JAMBUDVIPA TRUST
Our Vision is of Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of the democracy, pervaded by the ethics of “reverence and respect” towards all, in which all have the means to overcome suffering, live empowered and fulfilling lives, and contribute to a humane and harmonious society.
Founded in 1998, Jambudvipa is a charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act of Charity Regd no. E-2859 (Pune)

To create an empowered young people to take this work forward.
Our Activities
To empower youth, Jambudvipa works in the following areas – personal development, social awareness, skills for social action, culture, literature, the arts, and entrepreneurship, to fulfill its mission.
Main Tasks

Explore
To explore the social and spiritual implications of Dr. Ambedkar’s philosophy

Work
To work with a broad spectrum of disadvantaged communities through capacity building;

Support
To support initiatives in working with atrocities, women’s leadership, disaster management.

Teach
To teach basic mind development and culture through meditation and study classes.

Organize
To Organize seminars, retreats, workshops and lectures with leaders in the intellectual, spiritual and social fields.

Help
To help develop the capacity of individuals and CBO’s and NGOs working in these areas.
Jambudvipa Trust Supports for
Young People
Loans, scholarships and educational grants for young people to help them further their education or development of skills.
Training social activists
Training social activists who are dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar’s peaceful transformation of Indian society.
AshokaDutta
Ashokadutta programme - teaching basic Ashokan ethics in towns and villages throughout India.
Karuna Sadan
Karuna Sadan - the hostel Adipur, Gujarat, started after the earth quake in 2001, for girls from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe backgrounds.
